Hi everyone. I would like to introduce you to Startup Angola (SA).

Startup Angola is a non profit organization created by young Angolans that are striving to build a tech entrepreneurial ecosystem in Angola. The group was co-founded by Mauro Jorge and Joel Epalanga in the beginnings of August, 2012.
It basically started as a Facebook group where tech entrepreneurs and other enthusiasts talked about almost everything related to the startup movement in Angola, in other Portuguese-speaking countries (mainly Brazil and Portugal) and around the globe.
As it’s written in their website, the main objective is to “foment digital entrepreneurship in Angola by giving support and mentorship to digital entrepreneurs”. To accomplish that aim, they organize regular events called “Startup Dojo”, inform entrepreneurs about opportunities for marketing their businesses and networking, and also participate in other events such as the Fair of Angolan’s Creators and Innovators showcasing the products of it’s associated startups.
The Startup Dojo is an event where SA members and startups participate on workshops about business model generation and the Lean Startup movement. During the event some entrepreneurs have the chance to pitch their businesses to the audience (normally composed by businessmen, students, professors and other entrepreneurs) and participate in some kind of Startup Hackhaton which consists in forming groups to develop a business idea and a consecutive business model.
I’m a member of SA since August 2013, and since then I participated on some of the Startup Dojos. The last one was held in September 2013 at Instituto Superior Politécnico de Tecnologias e Ciências where I spoke about Google tools for startups.
For more information about SA and their current endeavors, please join SA’s facebook group or talk directly to Mauro or Joel.
