Yesterday during a conversation with two amazing Angolan young entrepreneurs, important questions came to mind: who is doing technology entrepreneurship in Angola? where can we find information about “all” of them? how are they making money? who are their founders and funders?
Well, it’s kind of disappointing to say that few people can give answers to those questions. Even worse, most of the Angolan tech entrepreneurs don’t even think about the answers to those questions. Also, there are many public and private institutions in Angola that don’t have proper data nor information about the many tech entrepreneurs who are born almost every day in the country.
From web-developers to designers; from IT services providers to programmers; from IT equipment sellers to mobile apps developers, the tech entrepreneurial spirit in Angola is rising. There are a lot startups looking forward to conquer a niche in the market and many other established companies having success in the market.
The stories, news, challenges, best practices and everything related to the tech startups movement in Angola are the main reasons for the existence of this blog. I will publish English and Portuguese content about the embryonic startup ecosystem in Angola hoping that in some way this information helps someone.
